SWAHILI - SEAFRONT ROOM
The word “swahili” is now common parlance and our language is called “kiSwahili”.
The word derives from Arabic “sawahel”, the word for beach or sandy areas in deserts (the Sahel of West Africa), and crept into vogue to describe the people of the coastline of Azania and the lingua franca.
It especially describes the people of mixed genes from 2,000 of years of Arab, Persian, Indian and other bloodlines, known as “waSwahili”, and carries the religious connotation of Islam.
